How did you get started?

Growing up in school I was heavily influenced by athletics events especially sprinting and shot put as well as karate. Through college I played rugby and the training for that helped me develop a strong base.

Soon after I finished rugby I took up weight training purely for health and fitness until early 2010, this is where I actually considered competing in bodybuilding so I applied for the 2010 NPA Yorkshire u-21s class and against all my expectations won my class and was invited to the NPA British Finals and came 1st again. This led me to being invited to Barcelona to compete for the UIBBN Worlds with the British team and unbelievably came 2nd. This followed by another 2nd at the 2011 NPA Yorkshire.

Can you describe your training programme for us?

The program I partake involves a four way split over a week. On Monday I train Quads and calves, Tuesday

chest, biceps and abs, Wednesday I rest, Thursday is back and hamstrings, Friday is delts, triceps and abs and rest off for the weekend. I like to go heavy often training to failure with 6-8 rep range but like to mix it up with rest pause, dropset, superset etc every now and then

What are your thoughts on nutrition?

I believe you must supply your body with sufficient fuel from all clean basic macronutrients and also use micronutrients to keep your body healthy and strong

What supplements do you use?

I currently use NRG 100% whey, Bcaas, HMB, UDOs oil, multivitamins/minerals, vitamin c

What are your goals?

To try and make the most of my potential and become the best bodybuilder I can be

What advice would you give to others?

To do research on nutrition and training, be determined, eat/rest well and train hard

Who are your inspirations?

Dorian Yates and Lee Priest as well as many British Natural Bodybuilders (too many to name lol)

Thanks Joe, that is great, good luck with your up coming competitions.
